• PEO 1: To achieve competency in the theoretical knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences with analytical as well as critical thinking to facilitate higher education and research.

Program Outcomes

• Pharmacy Knowledge: Possess knowledge and comprehension of the core and basic knowledge associated with the profession of pharmacy, including biomedical sciences; pharmaceutical sciences; behavioral, social, and administrative pharmacy sciences; and manufacturing practices.
• Planning Abilities: Demonstrate effective planning abilities including time management, resource management, delegation skills and organizational skills. Develop and implement plans and organize work to meet deadlines.
• Problem analysis: Utilize the principles of scientific enquiry, thinking analytically, clearly and critically, while solving problems and making decisions during daily practice. Find, analyze, evaluate and apply information systematically and shall make defensible decisions.
• Modern tool usage: Learn, select, and apply appropriate methods and procedures, resources, and modern pharmacy-related computing tools with an understanding of the limitations.
• Leadership skills: Understand and consider the human reaction to change, motivation issues, leadership and team-building when planning changes required for fulfillment of practice, professional and societal responsibilities. Assume participatory roles as responsible citizens or leadership roles when appropriate to facilitate improvement in health and well- being.

Departmental Club Activities(DCA) Week

The Pharmacy organized DCA Week from 13th to 17th Feb, 2019. It helped students to enhance their technical knowledge and bridge the gap between theoretical training and practical learning in real life environment. The students of D.Pharmacy and B.Pharmacy participated in the event.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Sri Sai College of Pharmacy has excellent Pharmacy setup that allows the students to get a better grasp of the subjects. Prime focus is always laid on research as this sole factor shall contribute greatly towards a successful career ahead. This is achieved by numerous state-of-the-art labs supported by well trained lab technicians where students get to perform Practicals under guidance of experienced Faculty.

1. PHARMACEUTICS LABS
   1. The objectives of these labs is to provide practical exposure to the budding pharmacists on Physical Pharmaceutics, Manufacturing Operations, Preformulation Screening Tests, Designing Evaluation and Pharmacokinetic study of solid, liquid, semisolid dosage forms including Novel Drug Delivery Systems like ocular, nasal, transungual, transmucosal, translabial, transnabhi, soft palatal drug delivery systems etc. which curtail the drug dose and minimizes the drug adverse reactions with excellent patient compliance.

1. PHARMACOGNOSY LABS
   1. The primary objective of this lab is to provide practical exposure to Undergraduates and Research Students on Tissue Culture Techniques, Sterilization Techniques including Antibiotic Assay, Microbial Screening, etc.

   1. Pharmacology Labs are well equipped with Rotarod, Pole Climbing Apparatus, Convulsiometer, Analgesiometer and Software’s for performing practical’s etc.

1. MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY LABS
   1. Medicinal Chemistry Labs are well equipped with sophisticated instruments like Fume Hood, Vaccum Pump, Mechanical Stirrer etc. The students will be exposed to analyze the organic and inorganic compounds as per Pharmacopoeial Standards along with practical experience for synthesizing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients etc.

Introduction

Welcome to the Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharmacy) program at Sri Sai College of Pharmacy, a foundational course designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to pursue a rewarding career in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. This program focuses on providing a comprehensive education in the core areas of pharmacy, preparing students to become competent pharmacy technicians and assistants in various healthcare settings.

The D. Pharmacy curriculum offers a balanced combination of theoretical learning and practical training, covering subjects such as pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, and hospital and clinical pharmacy. Students will gain a deep understanding of drug formulation, dispensing, and medication management, which are crucial for supporting pharmacists in ensuring patient safety and effective treatment outcomes.

Our program places a strong emphasis on hands-on experience, with students engaging in laboratory work, clinical simulations, and internships in hospitals, community pharmacies, and healthcare institutions. This practical exposure ensures that students are well-prepared to handle real-world scenarios, from accurately dispensing medications to advising patients on proper drug usage and potential side effects. Graduates of the D. Pharmacy program will be qualified to work as pharmacy assistants or technicians in a variety of settings, including retail pharmacies, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare clinics. The program also provides a solid foundation for those who wish to further their education and pursue advanced degrees such as Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy).
